An ambiguous story told through dance, Larkeldi's Whiskey Carousel takes you on a colorful journey through a dark world full of mayhem, mischief, and whimsical romance. It playfully weaves the tradition of American carnivals with an original modern perspective. On a spontaneous visit to the carnival, Hazel is approached by a fortuneteller who opens her eyes to a world of possibilities she never imagined. She encounters a Lil' lost boy, a fast talking medicine man named Slick, and his Jungle Carousel powered by whiskey. With the aid of Slick's questionable elixirs, Hazel is swept deeper into the gritty yet beautiful underbelly of the carnival and its entire host of eclectic characters. Feast your eyes on the Cotton Candy Girls, The Bearded Lady, The Dancing Liquor Sisters, the menacing Siamese Twins, and a menagerie of side show freaks yet undiscovered. |
